The release date and time are central, but first ask what the timestamp means. It may represent physical exit, an administrative transaction, or data entry. A blank or zero value can carry more than one meaning.
Use the booking number to keep the episode distinct. The arresting agency identifies who made the arrest, not necessarily who held the person. Use an archive entry as a lead. Preserve the displayed spelling, year, arrest date, and image filename if relevant. Then give those details to the jail in a focused historical-record request. Hispanic surnames, suffixes, aliases, hyphens, multiple given names, and caption errors can create false gaps. A booking number or date of birth is a safer join than a name alone. If the jail has no current person under that name, ask whether the response covered historical records. Do not turn an old arrest caption into proof of guilt, present custody, or release.
Presidio Jail Closure Record Trail
The jail's 2018-19 closure creates a local record-location problem. Dated reporting says it stopped taking federal prisoners in August 2018 and local prisoners in September 2018 while HVAC and fire-exhaust work, wiring, and security doors were addressed. People were housed in neighboring jails. The jail reopened after Texas Commission on Jail Standards approval in April 2019.
A person arrested in Presidio County during that interval may have a local arrest record but an admission or release record held by another county. Ask the sheriff to identify the receiving facility. Presidio Jail Federal Release Codes

Use exact wording for each event. “Released from Presidio County Jail to ICE custody” means local custody ended and immigration custody began. “Released by ICE” is a later federal event. “Removed” is different again. No current ICE detention contract at Presidio County Jail was verified, so the jail must not be labeled an ICE facility.
Presidio County Jail Facts
This is the only locally verified county detention facility in Presidio County. It is operated by the Sheriff's Office in Marfa. The official page states visitation on Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m., with two 20-minute visits per weekend. Those are visitation periods, not release hours. No fixed release schedule was documented.
The county's official facilities plan shows areas linked to the active jail, an Old Jail Building, Marfa Police use, and Adult Probation. Those labels do not create separate public jail rosters. A Marfa Police or Presidio Police arrest should be traced by asking where the person was booked. Sheriff dispatch serving the municipal departments does not merge their arrest records, court files, and jail custody records into one source.
Other operational details remain unverified: a public release exit, family waiting area, property return procedure, public transportation plan, weekend-release policy, and local good-time formula. Ask the jail and date any answer. Do not infer these practices from visitation hours or from another Texas county's rules.
