Check Presidio County VINELink

A Presidio County VINELink inmate check can locate one person in a participating agency's custody data and may offer notice of a later change. Texas has a state VINELink portal, but official county sources did not prove that Presidio County Jail participates. Confirm the agency in the live selector before relying on a result. A VINELink release check reports the event sent by that agency. It does not replace a county release sheet, a state-prison certificate, or records from federal custody. Match identity carefully and verify important events with the source agency.

Fields vary with the participating agency. Preserve the displayed labels instead of translating every status into “free.”

FieldSafe reading
Reporting agencyDefines which custody layer sent the event
Name or offender IDSupports identity matching
Custody statusDescribes the agency's reported state
Facility/locationShows the reported custodian, not all possible holds

Capture the exact status and time. Then ask the jail whether the event was community release or transfer. An annual sheriff arrest entry can remain online after a valid VINE release event because it records an earlier publication.

Register Presidio Release Notifications

Open the confirmed person's result and use the notification option offered by the participating agency. The live system determines whether phone, text, or email is available. Do not promise a channel that the current screen does not show.

  1. Confirm the person's identity and reporting agency.
  2. Select the event types and notification method shown.
  3. Enter the requested contact information.
  4. Create the four-digit PIN when the voice-alert flow requests one.
  5. Complete any confirmation step and save the registration details.
  6. Update or cancel the registration through the official service when needed.

The PIN confirms receipt in applicable phone workflows; it is not an offender identifier. Alerts support timely checking. They do not replace official records needed to establish the precise release reason or destination.

Confirm Presidio VINELink Releases

For county custody, request the sheriff's release sheet. It can show the physical exit, release code, authority, and receiving agency. For state prison, use TDCJ records and the release certificate. For federal sentenced custody, use the BOP locator and federal docket. For immigration custody, use ICE's locator and the recorded ERO or facility route.

System boundary: VINELink does not replace BOP or ICE records. A release from one participating jail can occur while another agency takes custody.

If a VINELink event and another source differ, build a timeline. The court order may authorize release, the jail may record physical exit, VINE may report a custody event, and a receiving agency may record admission. Those are not the same timestamp.

Presidio TDCJ Notification Route

TDCJ maintains a separate Integrated Victim Services System for eligible state-prison notification services. It is distinct from a county VINELink search. Use the system tied to the actual custodian.

TDCJ victim notification portal for state custody

The portal image identifies the state notification channel. A Presidio County Jail event should still be verified with the county unless the person entered TDCJ custody.

No Presidio VINELink Match

Do not infer nonparticipation or release from one failed search. Check the agency selector, name order, suffix, spelling, and identifier. County sources do not guarantee Presidio coverage, and the live interface can change.

When identity remains uncertain, report that the match could not be confirmed. A common name should never be joined to a custody event without enough official identifiers.

Verify Presidio VINE Events

When VINELink reports release, capture the agency, exact status, event time, identifier, and retrieval time. Then ask Presidio County Jail for the matching release sheet. It can establish physical exit, administrative entry, or transfer. Request the destination and code legend instead of assuming return to the community.

An arrest archive that remains online does not contradict a later VINE event. The archive documents an earlier publication. VINE reports a later participant event. The court docket may add a bond order or dismissal. Keep those sources separate.

If the county record says TDCJ, use state records. If it says USMS, use the federal docket and BOP when applicable. ICE or CBP calls for the immigration locator. VINELink is not a universal cross-system tracker.

Manage Presidio Release Alerts

Save the offender identifier and agency with the confirmation. Update contact details in the official system when they change. Treat an alert as a prompt to verify, not the final historical record.

A notice can reflect an agency update cycle. Do not infer guaranteed delivery. For current status, contact the reporting agency. For durable proof, request the underlying custody record.

Presidio Custody System Boundaries

A person arrested in Presidio County can move through several systems. A municipal arrest by the Marfa Police Department or Presidio Police Department must be traced to the agency where booking occurred. The county jail is the only locally verified detention facility. If the jail record names another county, request that county's receiving record.

A TDCJ transfer begins state-prison custody. The state live search covers current prisoners only and warns of delay, so a missing result right after transfer may reflect the update cycle. Preserve the TDCJ or SID number. After the person leaves prison, request the actual release history and certificate because the current-only locator is not a released-person archive.

Federal contract custody requires another path. A USMS transfer may move a person among contracted local jails. The federal docket supplies detention, release, commitment, and sentencing orders. If a federal sentence leads to BOP custody, its locator can show Release Date and a location such as Released or Not in BOP Custody. Those fields resolve BOP confinement only.

Immigration custody is separate again. Use the ICE Online Detainee Locator with its current required fields and contact the recorded office or facility if needed. A county release to ICE custody, an ICE release under conditions, and removal are distinct events. Only the proper federal record supports each statement.

Protect Presidio Match Accuracy

Use a full name plus an official identifier whenever possible. A date of birth can help when lawfully available, but unnecessary personal details should not be republished. If two results remain plausible, contact the reporting agency instead of selecting one. Record name variants that were tested, the agency filter, and the search time so a later check can reproduce the result.

A charge label is not an identity key and not a conviction. Match the person first, then interpret the custody event.
